Shine Your Compassion

I was reading about the two brothers in Tennessee this morning. They drove all over the state buying up sanitary wipes, hand sanitizer and masks so they could list them on Amazon and price gouge the public capitalizing on a major health crisis. They are profiteering on people’s illness and other’s deaths.

I personally have broken up a fist fight in Costco over toilet paper and have had a case of hand sanitizer stolen while in the UPS system that was being shipped to me.

I would like us, myself included, to step up our morality and transmute the immorality of the current panic around COVID-19. Its easy and I believe we can come together ideologically like we did after 9/11. Here are just a few of the ways any of us can help changing the energy.

Assist your elderly family or friends.

If you know someone in their 70s or 80s, help them out. Go grocery shopping for them so they can stay home. If you are isolating yourself, then call them to chat on the phone, or FaceTime with them. Connecting and breaking the loneliness for our comrades in crisis is a lovely gesture of the soul.

FaceTime Your Isolated Family Members or Friends.

So, you don’t want to go out? Then stay in touch with video chats. Send People emails or just get on the phone to stay connected. We are a gregarious species, so stay connected frequently.

Leave Something on the Doorstep

If you know someone who is ill, write a letter, make a card, leave a flower. You don’t have to see them face-to-face to show you care by leaving something on their doorstep.

Assist Your Hourly Wage Friends

If you know someone who is being harshly affected by their work slowing down, or who has been laid off, help them out if you can. If its only a jar of peanut butter and a loaf of bread, its still an act of kindness.

Video Date for a Few Weeks

Agree with your new squeeze to watch the same movie individually, at home. Then set a time to Skype or Facetime to talk about it. For extra fun, each of you light a candle, pour a glass of wine, and enjoy a video chat evening together.

It’s a Moment in Time

Like 9/11, be cautious, be aware, stay calm, and show your compassion. This is a moment in time that all of us, with confidence can get through. Let your compassion take center stage.
